The story
Beyond Belief Brewing is a UK craft brewery that turns surplus food, such as pasta, bread, brownies and wonky fruit, into beer, and sells its cans, bottles and merch from its own Shopify shop. EVDEV developed the shop's Shopify theme from the brand's design: a date of birth age gate, a beer collection with price, volume, style and ABV filters, product pages with can and pack sizes, a slide cart with a free shipping bar, merch pages and a branded search page.
Beyond Belief Brewing makes beer from surplus food: pasta in Zenith, Payload, Perigee and Downlink, fondant fancies in Fancy That!, brownies in Jovian and mango in Kofi, brewed in the UK, Ghana and Slovenia.
It sells singles, mixed packs and merch online to UK drinkers, and as an alcohol brand it has to confirm each visitor is of legal drinking age.
Turn the brand's design, a navy space theme with planets, cream type and bright can artwork, into a working Shopify theme.
Drinkers should be able to pass the age check, compare beers by style, strength and can size, pick a single can or a pack and check out quickly, on a phone as well as a laptop.
We built the theme section by section on Shopify.
Visitors enter their date of birth on the age gate, then land on a homepage with the full beer range, the surplus food story, merch and drinker reviews. The beer collection filters by price, volume, style and ABV, and every product page offers the brewery's pack sizes with drop-down panels for tasting notes, allergens, ingredients, brewing process and shipping. The slide cart shows how far the order is from free shipping and suggests another beer, and the merch and search pages use the same branded layout.
