The story
Dragonscale Supplies sells protection, storage and display gear for trading card collectors: slab guards for PSA, CGC, BGS and TAG slabs in up to four finishes, metal vault cases, binders and acrylic displays. EVDEV did Shopify development on its Ascent theme: a quick add that gives every guard colourway its own card on the Guards collection page, a collector photo slider, a homepage block of the latest articles and the article templates for its blog, The Codex.
Slab guards are Dragonscale's largest range, sold per grading company and finish, most in many named colourways (PSA Radiant alone has 45).
Dragonscale brought EVDEV in to build a quick add for the Guards collection page, then new sections for the homepage, the blog and the collector pages.
A Guards collection page where a collector sees every colourway, picks a quantity and adds several guards to the cart without leaving the page, with the product page one click away, and new homepage sections for collectors' own photos and the brand's latest articles.
We built the quick add into the Guards collection page.
Every guard colourway, more than 160 in all, has its own card with the colourway name and slab type, a quantity stepper and an add to cart button. A guard goes into the cart without a page load or the cart drawer opening, and its image flies to the header cart. An eye icon still opens the product page, and sold-out colourways turn grey. The quick add took the place of a third-party app that had listed the variants there. We also built the collector photo slider, now on the homepage, most slab guard product pages and the Hall of Flames page. For The Codex we built the homepage block of the latest articles and the article pages, with reading time, a share button and related articles. The Hall of Flames page now uses our collector spotlight sections too.
